President Donald Trump once again came to the defense of Sinclair Broadcast Group on Tuesday, commenting that "Fake News Networks" are criticizing the country's largest broadcaster because they're worried about the competition.
Minutes later, the president attacked CNN and its president, Jeff Zucker, directly, claiming that applicants for jobs at the network can't get jobs without making an anti-Trump promise.
Trump also tweeted his support of Sinclair on Monday, when he blasted networks' criticism of the company over the revelation that local TV news anchors from around the country had read from a script provided by Sinclair to warn about the dangers of "fake news."
A video, which Deadspin compiled showing dozens of reporters reading the script, went viral over the weekend.
Sinclair has responded to the criticism about the script, with Sinclair Senior Vice President of News Scott Livingston is defending it as a "well-researched journalistic initiative focused on fair and objective reporting," CNN Money reported.
But in an internal memo to Sinclair newsrooms, obtained by CNNMoney, he slammed what he called "misleading, often defamatory stories" about the company.
