President Donald Trump Wednesday slammed Democrats as "phony hypocrites" after their attacks on his firing of James Comey – noting that they had "been complaining for months and months" about the former FBI director after last year's news conference about the Hillary Clinton email probe.

Democrats have bitterly slammed Trump for dismissing Comey on Tuesday, even though White House officials cited the former director's press conference last July announcing his decision in the Clinton email probe as a key reason for his dismissal.
They attacked Comey for the announcement – and the outrage grew even stronger after he reopened the inquiry in October, less than two weeks before the election.
