President Donald Trump on Thursday night and again Friday morning reacted angrily through Twitter to the verdict of not guilty reached in the death of Kate Steinle, calling it "disgraceful" that the Mexican immigrant who was in the country after being deported five times was not found guilty.

Trump initially took to Twitter Thursday immediately after the verdict was announced, calling it "disgraceful," and saying that it was "no wonder the people of our Country are so angry with Illegal Immigration."

Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, who had already been deported five times and was wanted for a sixth deportation, had been charged with murder after Steinle was fatally shot in the back while walking with her father on a San Francisco pier.

Garcia Zarate did not deny shooting her, but said it was an accident. While he was acquitted of murder, he was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The case gained national attention, as it came during the presidential campaign, touching off a debate over immigration and sanctuary cities.

On Friday, Trump tweeted two more times, tweeting at first that the "Kate Steinle killer" came back over the "weakly protected Obama border," and complaining that the information was not presented in his murder trial in San Francisco.

The second tweet came within minutes of a Fox News' "Fox & Friends" discussion about the verdict, during which show co-host Steve Doocy referred to Garcia Zarate as "Kate Steinle's killer."

He made another political point in the second tweet Friday morning, attacking Democrats, under the leadership of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, as being "so weak on Crime that they will pay a big price in the 2018 and 2020 Elections."
