Donald Trump: I'll Be a Superman President

CNBC "Speakeasy"

Donald Trump says he won't be just a great president: He'll be like Superman.

The real estate billionaire, in a "Speakeasy" interview with CNBC's John Harwood, which aired Thursday morning, agreed with the anchor's superhero assessment of his campaign.

"Your answer to policy questions is, 'I'm Trump, I'm good, I'm the best, I will get it done,'" said Harwood.

"Well, there's a little truth to that," Trump replied. "In fact, a lot of truth to that."

"But we don't have Superman presidents," said Harwood, to which Trump replied: "We will if you have Trump. You watch."

In the interview, filmed this week at the Trump Grill inside the midtown Trump Tower, Trump also said that he won't disappoint voters who pick him because of the promises he's made during his campaign.

"I'm a problem solver, I will not disappoint people. I will find it," he told Harwood. "I have to solve problems."

Meanwhile, Trump thinks Americans are feeling strain because "their leaders are incompetent. In some cases, stupid" when it comes with dealing with Mexico, China, and Japan.

Trump, though, said he's "not a masochist" and would leave the race if he started to lose. But as for now, as he's "leading every poll, and in most cases, big, leading Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and I'm leading everything," he sees no reason to leave.

"If that changed, if I was like some of the people at 1 percent and 2 percent, there's no reason to continue forward," he told Harwood. "Now, if I tank, you know, sure, go back to business. Why wouldn't I?"
