President Donald Trump branded reports of links between his team and Russia "non-sense" and a "cover-up" of the "many mistakes made in Hillary Clinton's losing campaign."

In a series of Twitter posts Wednesday morning, Trump also suggested that the NSA and FBI are "illegally" passing information to The New York Times and The Washington Post.

He followed up later with another tweet underscoring "the real scandal."

At one point, Trump took time to praise Eli Lake, a Bloomberg View columnist, for an interview he gave to Fox News Channel's "Hannity" on Tuesday evening.

Trump eventually took a shot at his predecessor in the White House, nothing that Crimea "was taken by Russia during the Obama Administration."

Trump's Twitter volley began before 7 a.m, Wednesday, with a tweet slamming the "fake news media. He targeted "their conspiracy theories and blind hatred" and mentioned MSBNC and CNN as "unwatchable," while calling Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" show "great."
