Trump Readying Order to Stop Virus Research, WSJ Reports

President Donald Trump's administration is preparing an executive order that would stop federal funding, at least temporarily, for research into viruses that makes pathogens more dangerous or contagious, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Some viruses, such as the H5N1 bird-flu pathogen, might be exempted from the order, the report said, adding that the order has not been finalized.
