Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, slammed 2016 candidate Hillary Clinton for attacking her as a Russian ally, calling it a "baseless, factless allegation."

"It's unfortunate that people like Hillary Clinton and others around the foreign-policy establishment and the military-industrial complex in Washington are so afraid of the truth that I am speaking to leadership that they are trying to smear my character.

"I'm prepared to walk in on day one to fulfill the most important responsibility that the president has, which is to serve as commander in chief."
