Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday defended President Donald Trump's public attacks on his Attorney General Jeff Sessions, saying they show the president's "candor" and let's other members of his Cabinet know where they stand.
"One of the great things about this president is you always know where you stand," Pence told Fox News Channel's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" in an interview taped in the White House. "And I think what the American people like about this president is he speaks candidly, he speaks openly."
Pence said "one of the president's virtues is his candor," and, "There's no attempt to hide his feelings. His expressed disappointment here is very sincere and he's said, 'Well, we'll see what happens in the future.' But at least the American people know, and every member of the Cabinet can know that you'll always know where you stand with President Trump."
