President Donald Trump fired back at former President Barack Obama and the Democrats’ vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris as they both blasted him during convention addresses.
The comments from Trump came in three tweets posted in all capital letters.
Trump tweeted about Obama’s relationship with the Democrats’ presidential nominee Joe Biden.
He wrote: “WHY DID HE REFUSE TO ENDORSE SLOW JOE UNTIL IT WAS ALL OVER, AND EVEN THEN WAS VERY LATE? WHY DID HE TRY TO GET HIM NOT TO RUN?”
And just a little earlier, Trump had tweeted about Obama: “HE SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN, AND GOT CAUGHT!”
Fox News noted that Obama did not endorse his vice president until April when Biden was all but assured of the nomination. And Politico said Obama has privately raised concerns over the ability of Biden to beat Trump.
Obama, in his speech, called Trump self-absorbed, self-serving and someone with "no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves."
Meanwhile, as Harris was giving her speech, Trump pointed to a confrontation she had with Biden during the primaries.
He tweeted: “BUT DIDN’T SHE CALL HIM A RACIST??? DIDN’T SHE SAY HE WAS INCOMPETENT???”
Fox News said Harris has not called Biden “a racist,” but did condemn him for recalling his work with segregationist senators.
In her speech on Wednesday, Harris said: “Joe will bring us together.”
