Scott Walker: 'I'd Love to be President . . . of Harley Davidson'

By    |   Wednesday, 20 November 2013 11:46 AM EST

When asked about his interest in running for president in 2016, Wisconsin Gov Scott Walker announced Wednesday he would love to be president — of Harley Davidson.

"I'd love to be president, I will say it right here and live, of the Harley Davidson Motor Company. But, that's a whole different matter out there. Made in Wisconsin!" the Republican said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

On a more serious note, Walker suggested a candidate with managerial experience like  that of a governor would perform best in the White House.

"I think any of the 30 Republican governors would be the ideal candidate," he said, sidestepping the question of whether he would run in 2016.

"I think governors are the ones who get things done," he added.

Walker's new book, "Unintimidated: A Governor's Story and a Nation's Challenge," details the changes he has overseen Wisconsin chief executive — specifically, cutting taxes, improving the economy, and initiating reforms in education, and entitlements.

"I really tell the story of what and how, but more importantly, why we did what we did in Wisconsin, which, I think, a lot of people will be surprised to learn about," he said.
