Weston Imer, 12, is opening up a field office for Donald Trump's campaign in Jefferson County, Colo.
"I am the co-chair of the Jefferson County Trump campaign," he said in a report on local TV station KDVR.
Weston's mother Laurel Imer is listed as the official coordinator for the office. She said parents should be more open to giving children more responsibilities.
"You have a responsibility as a parent to teach them," Laurel Imer told KDVR.
Weston made phone calls to Trump supporters and instructed volunteers as they launched the campaign office, KDVR reported.
The Imers' office is the sixth campaign office Trump has opened in Colorado. His Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, has 17, KDVR reported.
Imer plans to be at the office every day until school starts in September.
He also previewed his own presidential campaign plans.
"Definitely, 2040. Watch for me. And Baron Trump, if you're watching, I'll take you as my running mate," Weston said, referring to the Republican candidate's youngest son, age 10.
Businessman Robert Blaha, chairman of Trump's Colorado effort, said the Trump campaign is working closely with Colorado Republicans. He told CPR.org, "The state party and us are literally attached at the hip."
