President Donald Trump still believes that "there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign," despite news reports that special counsel Robert Mueller has subpoenaed documents on Moscow from the Trump Organization, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday.
"We will continue to cooperate with the special counsel," she told reporters at the daily briefing.
Citing "two people briefed on the matter," The New York Times reported that Mueller's investigators had issued the subpoena to Trump's company "in recent weeks."
It also "ordered the Trump Organization to hand over all documents related to Russia" and related topics, the Times reported.
Sanders noted that Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee closed its Moscow probe on Monday — finding "no collusion" — and reiterated that the White House was cooperating with Mueller.
"We look forward to the investigation concluding soon," she said.
On the recent spate of White House departures, including President Trump's firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday, Sanders said that she had no personnel announcements Thursday.
"The president is committed to having the right people in the right place at the right time."
