The two hoodlums then drive their captives to an ATM and force them to withdraw money. Then they go to a deserted soccer field. The two gunmen strip the women and rape them in front of the men. Then they force the women to perform sex acts on each other, and they force the three men to have sex with the women.
Finally, the gunmen force their victims to kneel on the ground. Each one is shot execution-style. Incredibly, one of the five survives. She walks, naked and bloody, through the snow for a mile before finding help.
Jonathan and Reginald Carr, brothers, have been charged in the murders, which came at the end of a weeklong crime spree. Before they happened upon the Wichita townhouse, the Carrs robbed a man at gunpoint outside a convenience store and murdered a 55-year-old cellist near her home.
All of the Carr brothers' victims were white. The Carrs are black. A spokesman for the local district attorney said the investigation had found no evidence of a racial motive.
Do you think he would get away with making a similar statement if the racial identities were reversed? Everyone from Jesse Jackson to Kweisi Mfume to Al Sharpton would be calling for blood! They'd cry out for the harshest possible punishment against these racist white men.
What if the murderers had been white and the victims all gay men? The hate-crime lobby would be screaming its lungs out.
Under hate-crime laws, the seriousness of the crime is based not only on the actual criminal act, but on the racial or gender identity of the victim. Under hate-crime legislation, law enforcement would treat some people's lives as more worthy of protecting than others.
To liberals the lives of those white people in Kansas aren't as valuable as the lives of Matthew Shepard or James Byrd.
Speaking of criminals, Bill Clinton wants to restore felons' voting rights.

Why does Clinton want to allow convicted criminals to vote? No, it's not because he expects to become a felon after he's left office. It's because he knows felons would vote for Democrats!
Think about it. If you're a felon, you can choose between the Republicans, who support tougher criminal sentencing, and individual gun ownership – or the Democrats, who blame everyone and everything except the criminal himself. Democrats are soft on crime and, most importantly, want to disarm the American public.
Of course criminals will vote for the party that makes
life easier for them!
Perhaps, too, Clinton should identify with criminals. He has been accused of forcible rape, although some in the media would rather not have that fact brought up.

Will's column on Thursday's commentary page, as edited by the Times, omitted the author's statement that it is reasonable to believe that President Clinton 'was a rapist 15 years before becoming president.' Although some might dispute Will's interpretation of the facts, it is his opinion and should have been included in his column."
Actually, I think that Will should have phrased this sentence a little differently. It should have read "It is unreasonable not to believe that Clinton was a brutal rapist 15 years before he became president."
Speaking of Clinton and criminal conduct, Judicial Watch has found that the White House has been working through the weekend to prevent the Bush administration from recovering Clinton administration computer files.
The usual procedure for a presidential transition goes like this: White House computer workers use a computer program to take a "snapshot" of the contents of each computer's hard drive. Those "snapshots" get stored as part of official records.
This isn't happening, according to Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton. He says political aides have ordered computer workers to first run the hard drives through a software program that "wipes clean the hard drives so the next administration can't retrieve any files."
Fitton says the aides are starting with the computers belonging to the most important people first – the White House lawyers – and working their way down the food chain. The project heads are top Clinton aides Mark Lindsay and Michael Lyle.
Lindsay, you might recall, is the same man who admitted in a federal court last summer that sworn declarations by the White House about its missing e-mail records were false.
You knew it was going to happen. You knew that, as soon as George W. Bush's victory was certified, the document shredders would be running night and day at the White House. That's Clinton's true legacy – not a stable economy or world peace, but the cover-ups and obstruction of justice that Clinton aides are now working to complete.
But there is this encouraging news out of Michigan that, at least, someone is being punished for criminal activity.
In Pontiac, Michigan, a third-grader found a medallion on a chain in a snow bank. It was about one and one-half inches long, and it was in the shape of a (gasp!) gun.
The young criminal put it around his neck and went on to school.
He was, of course, suspended.
The Owen Elementary School has a zero-tolerance policy on "guns," so the kid was sent home. School officials said that the medallion might frighten some of the other children. They don’t know how long the suspension will last, but the third-grader isn’t in school today.
This country is just going P.C. nuts, folks.
