Much has been made by the Opposition Media during the past few weeks regarding New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s response to the Wuflu.
Leftists with media passes have gushed over his "calm and steady leadership" supposedly displayed during his daily news conferences.
For a while there was even a boomlet to replace Gropey Joe Biden with Cuomo as the Democratic nominee for president.
Now we learn it appears that would be replacing an incompetent with an ingrate.
At the beginning of the Great Pandemic Panic the wildly inaccurate death and hospital bed projections for the Kung flu predicted a bleak future for New York and New York City in particular. Not enough hospital beds and not enough frontline medical personnel to deal with the expected tidal wave of cases.
Gov. Cuomo issued a series of pleas to the nation’s medical personnel to come to New York and rescue the population from the devastation of the virus.
Generous, courageous doctors and nurses responded to Cuomo’s call, uprooting their lives to go to New York to fight the Flu Manchu.
Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse — a Christian medical mercy group — erected a 68-bed temporary hospital in New York City’s Central Park. Samaritan’s Purse took overflow China flu patients from Mount Sinai Hospital, eventually treating a total of 315 patients infected with the virus.
Now the individuals who volunteered and Samaritan’s Purse are discovering the hidden terms of the arrangement with Cuomo. It seems the volunteers put themselves in harm’s way while New York state put its hand in their wallet.
New York intends to tax the individual volunteers and Samaritan’s Purse on any income they made while in New York.
When asked about this slap in the face to selfless volunteers Cuomo revealed the true leftist mindset: Ingratitude combined with greed.
The governor's excuse?
"We’re not in a position to provide any subsidies right now because we have a $13 billion deficit."
Not taking someone’s money is only a "subsidy" if you think all an individual’s money belongs to the state in the first place.
In the case of Samaritan’s Purse the money-grab is even more egregious.
Franklin Graham explained in a Faithwire.com interview, "They’re the ones who called us originally. We didn’t call them; they called us. And we agreed to go and we have not charged them one penny. All of our services have been paid by God’s people."
One group donated all its services the other uprooted their lives, yet all discover they are now on the hook to New York.
