The left in America is evidently going back to its Stalinist roots. Entire classes of people are being branded as unworthy or enemies of the statist. In the USSR all one had to do was lose a power struggle to see his whole family rounded up. Today in the USA you can be equally guilty if your father wins a presidential election.

The left in the U.S. is in the midst of a commercial purge of the Trump brand. The latest victim is his daughter, Ivanka and her line of women’s clothing and accessories.

A group of self-appointed society sanitizers called Grab Your Wallet has decided the nation would best be served by driving Ivanka out of business. Head hater Shannon Coulter is behind the effort to pressure retailers to stop carrying Ivanka’s line. After the weather vanes in merchandising at Nordstrom dropped her products, Coulter crowed to the Seattle Times, "I am absolutely thrilled, and I know the vast majority of Grab Your Wallet participants will be as well."

But what about the people who supported Trump on Election Day? Are these retailers comfortable with offending half their potential market to please a noisy few in the other half? And what do the members of the board of directors of Nordstrom think about alienating half the firm’s potential market?

Like most leftists, Coulter doesn’t trust consumers to make their decisions on their own. If they don’t like the Trump brand, they won’t buy it. Instead she denies them the opportunity to make their own decisions by making it impossible to find the product. That way she makes certain Ivanka is punished for, well for what?

Being Trump’s daughter? When did that become a punishable offense? Here in the U.S. the left demands the daughter’s of illegal aliens become automatic citizens with all the rights that entails, while the daughter of the president is denied the right to sell her products.

Coverage by the opposition media is purposely obtuse. The Washington Post scratches it’s chin and ponders, "It’s not clear why President Trump believes his daughter was treated unfairly by Nordstrom if she is no longer involved in the label’s operations." Purposely ignoring the fact the decision was a combination of politically motivated cave-in and insult.

Naturally Trump responded to the affront. He tweeted, "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!"

This gives Democrats and their media lackeys yet another chance to be hypocrites, which once again they fail to pass up. The tweet has been called unpresidential and out of bounds. Conveniently forgetting that Democrat President Harry Truman once told a reviewer for the Washington Post who criticized a performance by his daughter, "Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you'll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!"

Attacking the daughter of the president is what’s out of bounds. It’s the politics of vindictiveness at its best and Stalinist at it worst.
