A federal judge recommended by Iowa Senators Charles Grassley and Joni Ernst has decided that a law banning pornography from Iowa government school libraries and also banning homosexual grooming from elementary schools should be blocked.

Another victory for judicial evaluation by Republican senators.

The cultural Marxists at the Associated Press describe the law thusly, “The law, which the Republican-led Legislature and GOP Gov. Kim Reynolds approved early in 2023, bans books depicting sex acts from school libraries and classrooms and forbids teachers from raising gender identity and sexual orientation issues with students through the sixth grade.”

The paragraph concludes, “[Judge] Locher blocked enforcement of those two provisions.”

This is the fruit from the introduction of "sex education" in schools during the '60s. And the Church Ladies that were so roundly reviled by the sophisticated people — and their wannabes — were exactly right in their prediction of how the nation was taking the first step down the slippery slope.

Now the culture is in the abyss, and federal judge Stephen Locker is allowing homosexual pornography like the book ‘Gender Queer’ to remain in libraries.

The 1st Amendment is not a free pass that requires school systems and parents to allow degenerate authors, their publishers and their deviant advocates to impose their beliefs and sexual practices on school children.

The books exist, otherwise the volumes wouldn’t be in the library in the first place, so the author’s free speech hasn’t been hindered in the least. What the legislature and Gov. Reynolds are determining is where the placement of these books is harmful to children.

And the same goes for discussions of sexual orientation in elementary school. Quite simply, any adult — teacher or not — who wants to discuss sexual orientation with third graders is a pervert and has no business in the classroom or around children at all, for that matter.

As the governor said, “Instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation has no place in kindergarten through sixth-grade classrooms. And there should be no question that books containing sexually explicit content — as clearly defined in Iowa law — do not belong in a school library for children. The fact that we’re even arguing these issues is ridiculous.”

One only has to note that one of the organizations funding the lawsuit contesting the law is a notorious homosexual advocacy group to see the underlying motive for opposition to the law.

This isn’t some abstract question of law as the judge seems to think, and the fact that disingenuous educrats have been removing books the law didn’t address from school libraries to support the plaintiff’s case should have no bearing on the lawsuit.

The law is clear. What’s not clear is why the judge thinks there is a place for homosexual pornography in the classroom. And why adults should be discussing elementary school children’s genitals with them in the classroom.

Maybe it’s high time someone asked Judge Locher.
