Steve Kerr, the coach of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, is a weak, foolish man who hates the nation that gave him his opportunity to be a rich and fatuous basketball coach. Kerr is a cheap moralist who takes the side of murderous communist China over his own country.
The NBA is on the defensive this week because the general manager of the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey, made the mistake of tweeting support for democracy protestors in Hong Kong. China was not amused. Houston Rockets fan wear disappeared from the mainland and the official China sources roasted Morey for supporting freedom.
Feeling a pain in its wallet — the NBA is big in China — the league scrambled to make the communists happy.
That’s the background behind a recent news conference where Kerr was asked about human rights abuses in China. The Daily Wire reports the cornered Kerr (pun intended) did what all leftists do when cornered by the inconsistencies of their politics. He attacked the USA.
“Nor has our record of human rights abuses come up, either. Things that our country needs to look at and resolve. That hasn’t come up either. None of us are perfect. We all have different issues we have to get to. ... But people in China didn’t ask me about, you know, people owning AR-15s and mowing each other down in a mall. I wasn’t asked that question.
“The world is a complex place and there’s more gray than black and white …You’re either good or you’re evil. It’s convenient to do things that way, but not realistic.”
Kerr is unable to distinguish between the official government human rights abuses of communist China and the benevolent human rights policy of the U.S. Kerr attacks the U.S. vigorously for what evil individuals have done in order to let an evil government off the hook.
While Kerr was pontificating about a morality that he’s obviously unable to understand, China was holding over 1 million minority Uighurs in concentration camps in a decades-long effort of cultural genocide designed to finally erase Uighur culture. China also harvests organs from political prisoners. Chinese authorities bulldoze Christian churches and imprison pastors. The communists have a pervasive surveillance state that monitors citizens and penalizes them for incorrect thinking.
And that’s just what’s going on under the current Xi regime. Under Chairman Mao, who founded communist China, the Heritage Foundation reports, “According to the authoritative 'Black Book of Communism,' an estimated 65 million Chinese died as a result of Mao’s repeated, merciless attempts to create a new 'socialist' China. Anyone who got in his way was done away with — by execution, imprisonment or forced famine.”
And the ignorant, morally obtuse Kerr calls that record a “gray” area while he attacks the U.S. for what a handful of individual maniacs do?
That’s sort of thinking is contemptable as is Coach Kerr.
