The more the public learns about the so-called ‘Russia Collusion’ investigation the better President Trump looks and the worse the FBI and Justice Department appear. Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor, analyzes the latest “bombshell” from The New York Times and finds the information only confirms what conservatives have believed for a long time and the Opposition Media has tried to obscure: The Russia investigation was always a Trump investigation.

In a nutshell, the investigation began under the Obama administration and used the power of the federal government — both the FBI and the Justice Department — to investigate the legally chosen presidential candidate of the Republican Party. This is an unprecedented breach of law enforcement protocol, a blatant abuse of power, and a covert attempt to interfere with the election.

As McCarthy summarizes, “The investigation commenced during the 2016 campaign by the Obama administration … was always about Donald Trump.”

After Trump won the election fair and square he would have access to information the FBI and Justice Department Obama holdovers wanted to keep hidden to conceal their malfeasance. The ‘Russia Collusion’ investigation after the election wasn’t a legitimate law enforcement inquiry. The ‘Collusion’ investigation was the coverup of the campaign tampering.

Once Trump tired of the oleaginous FBI Director James Comey and fired him, the FBI fought back with a specious “obstruction” charge and Special Persecutor Robert ‘Ahab’ Mueller was appointed.

During the course of the serial investigations and spying efforts the FBI lied repeatedly to the FISA court to obtain warrants, it colluded with the Hillary Clinton campaign, it used information it knew to be false to justify the snooping, and mislead the president as to the goal of the investigation. A goal which was to essentially nullify the 2016 presidential election by finding something, anything that would drive President Trump from office.

This is Venezuela without the food riots.

The sheer scope and audacity of this fundamental abuse of power is simply breathtaking. What’s even worse is that now that the public knows the truth, none of the conspirators will be brought before the bar of justice. With the exception of a handful of job losses and resignations, the guilty are getting off scot-free.

Compare that outcome to the investigations of individuals whose only crime initially was being associated with President Donald Trump.

In the wake of Watergate, a genuine scandal, many of the guilty went to jail. The government officials punished were individuals in the White House or campaign operatives working outside government. None of the guilty used the power and resources of the federal government to implement their plan.

Yet that is exactly what has happened and is continuing to happen in this attempted Justice Department coup.

The chances for justice in the end are slim. The Opposition Media loathes President Trump and it won’t go after the Obama administration and its holdovers as it went after Nixon and his minions. The handful of political appointees in the Justice Department who support Trump and know firsthand about the rot in the FBI are outnumbered by Deep State operatives who are genuinely obstructing justice.

And the comfortable conservatives in the Senate think it’s beneath their dignity to support their president too openly.
