Dear Newsmax Readers:
You’ve probably seen news reports from whistleblowers at Facebook who are claiming that key staff there downplayed and blacklisted respected conservative news sites.
Several reports said Newsmax was one of the sites targeted.
These reports confirmed what we at Newsmax were seeing. Time and again, important stories got little attention, as liberal outlets saw their stories promoted.
Obviously, I am disappointed by Facebook, and I hope those who run it will take steps to stop this form of bias and censorship.
At Newsmax I have always believed in publishing and sharing both sides of the story.
I believe in the intelligence of the American people. When they are presented with all of the facts and arguments, I believe they will make the right choice, almost always.
This year the country faces a critical election — perhaps the most important in history.
It’s important that you get balanced information, and that social media like Facebook serve as a neutral platform, as they promised to do.
It’s also important to remember that you don’t have to let Facebook filter your news.
You can act now to take control and determine what news you see in your news feed.
If you are a Facebook user, here’s how you can prevent filtering:
- Go to the Newsmax page on Facebook.
- Click the down arrow on the Like button on Newsmax’s Facebook page.
- Select “See First” rather than “Default.”
This change from “Default” to “See First” means you will have a greater possibility of seeing the news that Facebook has censored from you.
Of course, it’s also important for you to Like and Share our content on Facebook.
Thank you for your readership!
Yours sincerely,
Christopher Ruddy
