July 29, 2024: Seventy percent (70%) of voters view faith or religion as very important (41%) or somewhat important (29%) in their daily life. A Scott Rasmussen national survey conducted by RMG Research found that 28% of voters view faith or religion as either not very important (11%) or not at all important (17%).

The survey also found that 30% of voters attend church, synagogue or other religious services at least once a week. With 8% of voters attending more than once a week and 22% of voters attending once a week. Sixty-seven percent (67%) attend a couple of times a month or less with 11% going a couple of times a month, 7% going once a month, and 49% going rarely or never.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on July 15-16. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
