President Joe Biden's dangerous and dumb executive orders promoting illegal immigration is putting our country back on a suicidal path.
Democrats are willing to inflict enormous long-term harm to the United States by promoting more illegal border crossings, simply because it will provide them with enhanced power.
Biden may very well seek to provide citizenship via an executive order for 11 million to 20 million undocumented people. Such a decree would likely be struck down as illegal. To make the path to citizenship valid, he will need to peel off several Republican senators to support this amnesty.
If Republicans cave into the pressure that will be mounted by The Washington Post and New York Times editorial boards to support this madness, they will be sowing the seeds of the destruction of whatever is left of the Grand Old Party.
For decades, the Republican establishment not only looked the other way as Democrats promoted illegal immigration, in many cases they sided with the Democrats in order to placate their Wall Street and Chamber of Commerce benefactors. More illegal immigration meant lower wages for all and more short-term profits for the business community.
This scenario is reminiscent of how Wall Street sold out America by aligning with China's efforts to steal our manufacturing, simply because it gave investors a huge supply of low-cost labor and higher returns. More money for Wall Street, the nation be damned.
Democrats abandoned their traditional advocacy for the working class when they supported millions of people entering the country illegally to take jobs from America's poor and to suppress wages for those who indeed found a low paying job. But they, too, were willing to betray the security of the nation in order to garner the votes that would eventually come from legalization. Since Hispanics tend to vote at an approximate 70% rate for Democrats, the party has adopted an open borders policy.
There are many reasonable people who have become resigned to the fact that it is simply unrealistic to expect that up to 20 million people will be deported. So they acquiesce to bringing them out of the shadows via a legalization process. But that is much different than providing citizenship.
Here are some reasons why it's so essential that the Republicans stand strong against citizenship.
1. Making red states blue.
Providing voting rights to millions of the undocumented will make red states purple and purple states blue. Being able to vote is not a right for those who broke the law to gain entry into the country. These individuals should feel grateful if they are given the ability to stay here without the fear of deportation, but they have no standing to demand that they be enshrined citizenship.
2. It's immoral for those waiting in line.
There are 5 million individuals patiently waiting in line to get into the United States, some for over a decade or more. We are basically telling them they are suckers for trying to do it the right way, when others who cut the line are rewarded.
3. Promoting illegality begets more illegality.
The providing of amnesty in 1986 was supposed to end illegal immigration. Instead it sent a message that it's worth breaking our laws to gain entry, because, ultimately, Congress will fold and grant yet more amnesty. That's why 20 million people entered illegally since the '86 act. Yet another amnesty will just encourage tens of millions of more around the world to enter illegally.
Already, over 9,000 Hondurans have initiated a new caravan on the announcement by Biden that he will reverse Trump's "Stay in Mexico" asylum policy. One of Trump's crowning achievements was getting control of the border. Astonishingly, Biden is seeking to bring back the era of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens flooding the border, just to placate the radical left of his party.
4. It will bankrupt Social Security and Medicare.
We are currently maintaining a $43 trillion long-term unfounded obligation in the Social Security system.
In 2019, the Medicare program cost $644 billion — about 14% of total federal government spending. The 61 million in the program is already slated to grow to 88 million over 30 years. And now Biden wants to overwhelm the system by adding another 20 million. Who is fighting for America's future generation?
5. It will further strain the welfare and health systems.
Biden is creating a magnet for further illegal immigration due to his promise to allow illegal border crossings to immediately become eligible for taxpayer-funded healthcare and other social service goodies. While immigrants in prior generations had to be sponsored, or at least cut it on their own, the new immigrant is showered with a vast number of taxpayer subsidized benefits.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, the net cost to the U.S. taxpayer for benefits issued to illegal aliens already tops $116 billion annually.
Putting Americans Last
No, you were not hallucinating. President Biden actually said that he will provide scarcely available COVID vaccines to illegal aliens who have or will cross the border.
To all of my friends who asked how I could vote for a nasty, egomaniacal, impulsive candidate like Donald Trump over nice guy Joe Biden, perhaps this insane vaccine policy that gives priority to an illegal alien over your 90-year-old mother, gives you a hint as to why.
