President Donald Trump’s electoral victory in November has triggered a wave of calls to boycott businesses that support the new administration, but singling out presidential daughter Ivanka Trump for punishment is excessive, Carol Roth, a business consultant and Newsmax Insider, said on NewsmaxTV.
“This is absolutely bizarro world to me,” she said on "The Steve Malzberg Show."
The president’s detractors have targeted L.L. Bean, Kohl’s Corp. and Carl’s Jr. – and any retailer selling clothing marketed by the president’s daughter.

“Can you imagine if this happened to Chelsea Clinton when Bill was in the White House and everyone said, 'We're going to boycott Chelsea Clinton from now until the end of time'? People would say that the right was completely off their rocker,” Roth said.
Retail chains Nordstrom and Neiman-Marcus last week stopped selling Ivanka Trump clothing. Nordstrom said sales weren’t strong enough to continue carrying the fashion line.
Trump detractors have taken to Twitter with the hashtag #GrabYourWallet to spread the word on boycott targets. Amazon.com Inc. this week is under fire from Twitter users saying they won’t order from the online retailing giant.
Meanwhile, Trump’s backers have urged others to avoid doing business with Pepsico Inc., GrubHub Inc. and Starbucks Corp. – and to forget about buying tickets for the Broadway show “Hamilton.”
Ivanka's clothing is now "selling like hotcakes" on eBay, according to the New York Post.
"The online auction site was peddling plenty of Trump’s designer goods at a dizzying speed, with frenzied bidders scooping them up for as much as 95 percent off," the newspaper reported.
