An observant 10-year-old boy saved an elderly woman's life after he noticed something lying in the snow and asked his parents to check it out.
While driving past a home with his father in freezing Michigan temperatures, Danny DiPietro of Howell, Mich., noticed something out of the ordinary in the snow. He thought it might be a dog,
WHMI reported.

“It was late at night and super cold out and their garage was open and something just didn’t feel right,”
Danny told Action 7 News.
Danny begged his mother Dawn DiPietro to please check it out and, although she didn’t want to, she eventually went out in the cold to walk their dog.
What she found was 80-year-old Kathleen St. Onge lying on the ground where she had fallen on ice in the garage, and she had been there for more than two hours, said Action 7 News.
Dawn DiPietro ran back home and called 911, sending her husband with blankets to cover the elderly woman.
St. Onge was treated for hypothermia.
The woman's family was grateful. “She said she kept praying to the Blessed Mother and she just kept thinking, if someone doesn’t find me I’m going to be dead,” her daughter, Sandy St. Onge-Mitter, told Action 7.
St. Onge-Mitter told Danny DiPietro in person, “You’re my hero,” Action 7 reported, and said her mom kept saying, “That little boy saved my life. Thank goodness for that little boy.” Doctors had said that the woman probably would not have lived another hour if someone hadn’t found her.
Frigid Michigan temperatures broke records on Tuesday this week, but pushed above zero Wednesday and Thursday.
