In the latest viral restaurant receipt news, a customer left a waitress a $1,000 tip on a $60 bill with specific advice on how to spend the generous gratuity.
A photo of the receipt shows a bill for $60.42 with $1,000 written in under the tip line. Next to it, the patron wrote, "Your ticket to Italy. Enjoy!!"
Tumblr user "Casual Cynic" posted a

"My mom and I have been working the same waitress job for 5-6 years now… About 15 minutes ago this guy she waited on left and told her to take care. Just that. Prior to this she had talked to him about Italy. Her people are from Florence, this and that, and she said she's never been. She got eight years of art education and she's working a waitress job. It's pretty sad and disappointing, I guess. Her and my father divorced six years ago and she hasn't had a real job ever. Just been stuck in a small town she's not from. This man who we have never seen before tipped her $1,000 for a trip to Italy. Walked out, not another word."
The post drew more than 180,000 notes on Tumblr, with many people commenting on the customer's addition error on the 42 cents. "Casual Cynic" posted an update saying, "We know about the 42 cents. We have it covered."

Generous tips have become something of a trend lately. Last week, a regular at an
Indiana Steak 'n Shake gifted her waitress $446 on a $6 bill.
"At first I thought, '$46?' And I said, 'Miss Jo, that's really generous!'" waitress CeCe Bruce told Indianapolis' NBC affiliate. "When I looked again, I said 'Oh my gosh Miss Jo, I'm not taking that!' And she said, 'Yes, you're taking it' and I said no and she said 'You need to take it.'"
