The rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks could heat up more off the field, as 49ers fans raise money to place a billboard in Seattle bragging about their team's five Super Bowl victories.
The Los Angeles Times reported that 49ers fans are trying to raise $7,000 through a website for the billboard that will be placed somewhere in Seattle. The billboard will display five of the team's Lombardi trophies – which are given to the Super Bowl winner each year – with the question "How many do you have?"

Seattle has never won a Super Bowl title. The
"Seattle Billboard Fund," which is posted on the website GoFundMe.com, had reached its goal, raising more than $10,000 as of Thursday. The billboard sponsors say the extra money will go to charity.
San Francisco fans say it was Seattle Seahawks fans who started the war, by placing a "Go Hawks" banner over San Francisco's Candlestick Park two weeks ago when the two teams played,
according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Seahawks fans pooled together more than $1,300 for an airplane rental to fly the banner over Candlestick Park and other parts of San Francisco during the game.
"Many of us can't make it to Candlestick Park to support our Seahawks on Dec. 8th when they play the 49ers," Cedric Morris, one of the banner organizers, wrote on the fundraiser page. "Let’s show the world, and those 49ers, what the 12th Man is all about."
USA Today's Chris Chase said if the billboard goes up in Seattle, it would make Seahawks fans pay a high price for their banner.
"Using the 'five rings' argument is the ultimate trump card," Chase wrote on the For The Win blog. "It can't be beat. There’s literally no comeback a Seattle fan can make when a Niners fan says, 'oh, and how many Super Bowls do you all have?'"
San Francisco edged out Seattle 19-17 in that game on Dec. 8, evening this season's series between the two teams at 1-1 each. San Francisco (10-4), which reached the Super Bowl last year before losing to Baltimore, trails Seattle (12-2) by two games in the NFC West with two games left to play in the regular season.
