The Denver Post reported that Jackson could face thousands of dollars in fines and up to five years in jail if he’s convicted of the charges.
Navarez told police that Jackson tore up her property during a June argument, and when she locked herself in the bedroom, he kicked open the door and also kicked her, the Colorado newspaper said.
Police estimates of the property damage were about $7,000.
TMZ said as Jackson was leaving the courtroom Monday, a process server handed him a stack of paper and told the reporter that the documents were pertinent to the case.
Jackson’s relationships with his ex-girlfriends occasionally make the news.
The Blaze reported on an early July text exchange the rapper had with his 16-year-old son that was full of foul words and name-calling directed at the boy’s mother. Jackson reportedly said the boy’s mother, his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins, pretended to be the boy and then sold the screen shots of the texts to the media.
The Huffington Post reported that Jackson tweeted he was removing his 16-year-old son from his will after the text tirade.
In early July, after reports of the domestic violence charges, 50 Cent tweeted for a few days that he wasn’t in jail.
