New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge had the best-selling rookie jersey ever during the regular Major League Baseball season, topping the list this year after winning the Home Run Derby and breaking the home run record for rookies with 52.
The rookie also sold the most jerseys of any player in baseball this season, including seasoned players such as Bryce Harper, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo, all of whom were in the top five, ESPN reported.
Many Yankees have made the top 20 list in previous seasons, including Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter. Last season, no Yankee made the top 20 list, however.
Major League Baseball released the figures on Tuesday; they were based on sales from MLBShop.com from Opening Day to the end of the regular season.
The Yankees earned the American League wild card and will play the Minnesota Twins Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Although they had many injured players mid-season, they are healthier now and are at full strength going into the playoffs.
Twitter users were not all impressed by Judge's jersey sales, but some said he deserved it.
