A New York home owned by KISS guitarist Ace Frehley that was once used as a recording studio was heavily damaged by fire Saturday morning.
The Yorktown Heights residence, about 50 miles north of New York City, is in foreclosure,
according to The Journal News. The home has a market value of $541,516, though in 2006 Frehley took out a $735,000 mortgage to purchase it.

"I'm very thankful no one was hurt,"
Frehley wrote on his website. "The fire department and police did a great job and I'm very grateful to them for all of their help and courage in this matter ... job well done."
It did not appear that Frehley was living in the home at the time of the fire. It was not clear where Frehley was when the fire started.
The home sustained significant damage. Firefighters witnessed flames going through the roof when they arrived,
the Associated Press reported.
"We got to the scene and found heavy smoke showing from the roof line of the building," Yorktown Heights Fire Chief Chet Swirski said, adding that the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
The Journal News reported that the home had few windows, which made fighting the fire a challenge. Swirski said the blaze was primarily on the second floor.
Frehley, 62, played with KISS until 2002.
He became the fourth member of KISS in 1973 after auditioning Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Simmons and Stanley placed an advertisement in the classifieds calling for a guitarist, which Frehley had seen. He was part of the band during its most successful years, from 1975 to 1979, before leaving in 1982.
After forming his own band, Frehley rejoined the original KISS members for a 1995 MTV Unplugged Special that generated renewed interest in the makeup-clad band. That interest led to the band reuniting permanently and touring again until Frehley's final departure.
