Allegations that Ben Affleck is dating his children's nanny is "garbage," one of the
actor's representatives told the New York Post this week.
Affleck, 42, and his estranged wife, actress Jennifer Garner, 43, hired Christine Ouzounian as their children’s nanny during a 10-month secret separation period
earlier this year, Us Weekly reports.
One of Ouzounian’s friends claims she and Affleck “would hang out without the kids,” Us Weekly said. On July 17, the two were reportedly together in Los Angeles.
Garner allegedly fired the 28-year old after discovering Affleck’s affair, the New York Post reported.
"The story is complete garbage and full of lies," one of Affleck’s representatives told the New York Post's Page Six. "It’s shameful and desperate."
Ouzounian studied communication at Arizona State University and works for an upscale Beverly Hills babysitting agency. She has watched children for other A-list families, including Neil Patrick Harris’ children.
According to an unnamed source, Ouzounian "says Ben really, really likes her ... she’s saying this is true love," Us Weekly reported.
However, Affleck has denied the relationship.
"You shouldn’t be able to hide behind ‘blind sources’ and attempt to destroy families going through a difficult time. The tabloid [Us Weekly] decided to construct stories in order to sell magazines. It’s like story time in kindergarten," Affleck's rep told the New York Post.
The news that Affleck may be delving into a new romance comes almost a month after he and Garner announced their split on June 30.
An unnamed
source told People their divorce "was inevitable. If there's any surprise, it's how long it took to happen." Another source said Affleck "told her he had not been committed to the marriage within the past few years."
"Jen is a fighter. She would not give up unless there was a good reason," the friend declared, according to People. "But there comes a time when you have to say enough is enough and take care of yourself."
Still, another source said Affleck was not the one to blame for the breakup.
"Saying he's a bad father and a husband is an easy story, and everyone has wanted to clock him as a womanizer and gambler," an insider told People. "He couldn't deal with her expectations. When you're told you're not good enough, you start to believe it."
