Alan Thicke, often considered one of TV's favorite fathers, will show off his real-life parenting skills on a new reality show set to premiere next month.

Thicke, who starred as dad Jason Seaver on the ABC family sitcom "Growing Pains" from 1985 to 1992, returns to TV in April with a "reality-ish" show about life with his wife Tanya and 16-year-old son Carter. Thicke is also dad to singer Robin Thicke.

"'Unusually Thicke' combines my two favorite things," the 67-year-old actor said in a statement. "Famil ... and laughing at my family. This series is my foray into the 'reality-ish' world where viewers will meet the lovable, unpredictable, and often challenging people who live with the real Jason Seaver."

In a preview clip of the upcoming series, Thicke is seen watching cat videos on YouTube with his son, hanging out with John Stamos and Bob Saget, and bickering with his wife over the number of shoes in her closet.

"We take our relatable real-life stories and blow them up to amuse and amaze, tossing in a handful of celebrity friends along the way," Thicke said in the statement. "Please come aboard and enjoy the ride!"

Twitter users and "Growing Pains" fans are already anxiously awaiting the "Unusually Thicke" premiere.

"Unusually Thicke" premieres April 16 at 10 p.m. EST on TV Guide Network.
