Alec Baldwin is partnering with author Kurt Anderson to write a book about the actor's experiences and about the new president.
The book, which will be published by Penguin Press, will be titled “You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic Year as President Donald J. Trump,” Variety reported. It will be published in November.
Anderson is a novelist and host of NPR show “Studio 360” as well as founding editor of the now-defunct “Spy” magazine.
Baldwin, who has impersonated Trump on "Saturday Night Live" since before the election, made it clear Anderson will be doing “most of the writing,” but Baldwin will narrate the audiobook as Trump and will appear on the cover, according to The New York Times.
Spy magazine often took aim at the then-real-estate mogul, and Anderson told the Times, "I didn’t think this former hobby of mine would return with this ferocity."
Anderson was impressed with Baldwin’s Trump impressions on "SNL." "It is extreme," Anderson said, "and with a guy like Donald Trump, to be effective it needs to be extreme."
"I think we'll be channeling and amplifying the real Trump," Anderson said of the book, the Times reported. "Writing for a five- or 10-minute sketch is different than writing a book, which has to be a narrative."
Baldwin’s portrayal of Trump has helped "SNL" improve its ratings this season, and many want him to stand in for Trump after the president said he would not attend the White House Correspondents' dinner.
