Alec Baldwin is reportedly in talks with NBC to join its late-night lineup and replace Carson Daly, a rumor that comes in the midst of a network-wide host shakeup.

Baldwin, the Emmy-winning actor who starred for all seven seasons on NBC's darling comedy "30 Rock," is reportedly being considered to replace Daly as the host of "Last Call," a half-hour interview program on at 1:35 a.m. EST, according to a network executive. Daly is also the host of NBC's biggest show, "The Voice."

Now that "30 Rock" is finished, Alec Baldwin has free time for another gig, and he already has some interviewing skills. He has won critical praise for a podcast series he created called "Here's The Thing," where he interviews celebrity guests (like Lena Dunham, Kristen Wiig, Chris Rock, and Billy Joel) in remote locations (such as a star's apartment).

Baldwin could potentially film several interviews during the day to be aired each night of the week, freeing him up to continue his acting career. He's also currently starring on Broadway as the star of the play "Orphans."

The Alec Baldwin rumor comes on the heels of the big announcement that Jimmy Fallon, now host of NBC's "Late Night," will take over the "Tonight" show from Jay Leno when he steps down next year. The show will also move from Los Angeles to New York.

Baldwin has been in the news over the last few years for a number of heated public outbursts, one of which got him booted from an American Airlines plane after he refused requests to turn off his smart phone. A crew member told the Post that Baldwin was removed because he had become "violent" and "aggressive."

Most recently, in February, he went on a racially charged rant against an African-American New York Post photographer, resulting in a police investigation.
