An online petition campaigning for a recast of the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" names Alexis Bledel and Matt Bomer as fans' ideal picks to play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
Though Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam were named as the movie's stars earlier this week, a
Change.org appeal for Bledel ("Gilmore Girls") and Bomer ("White Collar") has drawn nearly 22,000 digital signatures.
"Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE," the petition reads. "And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" took the literary world by storm in 2011 with its near X-rated storyline about an innocent college student, Ana Steele, who embarks on an erotic, sadomasochistic relationship with Christian Grey, a successful, yet troubled, millionaire entrepreneur.
The series' loyal fan base has long been awaiting the casting announcements, with speculation brewing online ever since it was revealed that the book would be turned into a movie. Favorites for Christian included Ian Somerhalder, Chris Pine, and Henry Cavill, while Emma Watson, Amanda Seyfried, and Mila Kunis were rumored to be starring as Ana in the film.
But Bledel and Bomer had always been the fan favorites.
Bledel and Bomer enthusiasts took to Twitter to push for a "Fifty Shades" recasting complete with Photoshopped potential movie posters and cobbled-together fake film trailers.
