A set of all-girl quintuplets, the first in the U.S. and first worldwide since 1969, was born in Texas earlier this month to parents Adam and Danielle Busby.
"We are so thankful and blessed," Danielle Busby said, according to CNN. "I honestly give all the credit to my God. I am so thankful for this wonderful hospital and team of people here. They truly all are amazing."
The babies, conceived via intrauterine insemination, have been named Ava Lane, Hazel Grace, Olivia Marie, Parker Kate, and Riley Paige. They join big sister Blayke.
The quintuplets were born via C-section at 28 weeks and two days at
The Woman's Hospital of Texas, KHOU-TV reported.
"Danielle is a trooper, and her positive attitude definitely shined through the pregnancy and the delivery," said Dr. Alexander Reiter, who delivered the babies with help from more than a dozen medical professionals.
Five medical teams, including seven board-certified neonatologists, are caring for the infants, who are doing well, KHOU-TV said.
It took about four minutes to
deliver the babies, The Associated Press reported.
The family posted a video update on their website, itsabuzzworld.com, describing the days since the birth as “overwhelming and busy” and detailing the babies’ personalities.
The post drew numerous comments and words of encouragement.
“Oh my word y'all are precious! I cried with you watching this video. Will be praying for all 6 of your girls and for you both,” commenter Stephanie Brown Roseman wrote.
“I just watched your video on our local news page. I wanted to send my prayers and encouragement,” another commenter, Nicole Peterson, wrote.
