Allison Williams flies through the air as the boy who never grew up in a new promotion video for NBC's "Peter Pan Live!" event that also gives fans a first peek at Christopher Walken as the villainous Captain Hook.
The live production, directed by Rob Ashford with executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, will air Dec. 4
The cast also includes Christian Borle as Mr. Darling and Smee, Kelli O’Hara as Mrs. Darling, Taylor Louderman as Wendy, Alanna Saunders as Tiger Lily, Jake Lucas as John Darling, John Allyn as Michael Darling, Minnie Driver as the adult version of Wendy, and
Caitlin Houlahan as Jane, according to Variety.
Williams, star of HBO's "Girls" and daughter of veteran NBC newsman Brian Williams, stopped by "The Tonight Show" this week to share her flying skills with host Jimmy Fallon.
"The coolest thing is the first time you go up into the air," the actress told Fallon, though she described the flying harness as "pretty uncomfortable."
"But I just love watching people take flight for the first time," she continued, as the attention turned to Fallon, who then donned a "Peter Pan" hat and harness, and flew and flipped his way across the stage.
Though NBC has stayed mostly true to the
original "Peter Pan" story, Entertainment Weekly reported that the show will feature some new songs and make over some old favorites, like "Ugg-a-Wugg," which was deemed offensive to Native Americans.
The song was revamped into "True Blood Brothers" with help from Amanda Green, a Broadway veteran and daughter of one of "Peter Pan's" original lyricists, Adolph Green.
"Amanda has consulted with our Native American consultant [Jerod Tate], just in terms of replacing 'Ugg-a-Wugg' with something more traditionally Native American — which has been approved by them and the rights holders. Now and forever, this will hopefully be the version [in the show]," Meron said, according to EW.
