Amanda Seyfried appeared to be upstaged by her dog on "The Late Show With David Letterman" Tuesday night, showing off his unique ability to balance objects on his head.

Seyfried's Australian shepherd, named Finn, joined her on the show, and she shared why he is a special pet.

"He balances things on his head," Seyfried said, when Letterman asked if Finn has any talents. "In fact, he has his own Twitter account."

Letterman was skeptical, but Seyfried maintained her canine could balance a burger on his head without shaking it off and eating it.

"A dog with raw or cooked meat on its head is going to go nuts and not sit with it on its head," Letterman said at first.

Finn comes out, and she places the burger on his head. He balances it unwaveringly for several seconds. When the audience began to cheer, he flicks it off his head; the burger hits the floor, and Finn immediately starts feasting on it.

Before the show, Seyfried twisted her ankle in her high while rushing to sign autographs, according to the New York Daily News.

Seyfried appeared on Letterman to promote her upcoming movie, "Lovelace," a biopic about the iconic porn star Linda Lovelace, who became an anti-porn crusader. Seyfried and fellow actor Justin Long attended the Cinema Society premiere of the film on Tuesday.

"They were hanging out at the after-party at Refinery Rooftop till closing time,” a source told the New York Post about Seyfried and Long. "They looked cozy in a corner."

Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Chris Noth, and Hank Azaria attended the party as well.

During the New York premiere of "Lovelace" earlier this week, Seyfried accidentally smeared blue marker on her forehead while signing autographs. As fans behind the velvet rope let out "awwws," she realized the gaffe and quickly turned to her publicist for help wiping it off, according to the Los Angeles Times.

But the rep made it worse when she licked her thumb and wiped it across Seyfried's forehead.
