Brad Pitt was spotted leaving former wife Angelina Jolie's Los Angeles mansion days after the actress revealed she divorced him for the sake of their children. In photos published by The Sun, Pitt is seen speeding away from Jolie's gated community on his motorcycle after a mystery meeting with his ex. He allegedly spent two hours inside Jolie's home.
The couple shared a lengthy romantic relationship and were eventually married in 2014. Two years later, Jolie filed for divorce. At the time, she cited irreconcilable differences but in a recent interview with Vogue India, she explained the real reason for their split.
"I separated for the well-being of my family. It was the right decision," Jolie said. The actress has been raising Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, and Zahara, 15, who are all adopted, alongside her and Pitt's biological children: Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 11. After the divorce, Jolie said she focused on their healing.
"Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds. In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people," she said.
Pitt has previously admitted to using drugs and abusing alcohol, which eventually "became a problem" in his marriage. He decided to get sober after realizing he had pushed the boundaries of those closest to him.
"I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privileges," Pitt told The New York Times.
The "Ad Astra" star also previously admitted to having a fiery temper. There are few reports of Pitt publicly losing his cool, but there have been rumors that he and his son Maddox became estranged after a 2016 altercation aboard a private plane. Jolie filed for divorce soon after.
