Model and socialite Annabelle Neilson, star of the Bravo reality series "Ladies of London," has died at 49.
Neilson's body was discovered at her home in the London neighborhood of Chelsea last Thursday, London Metropolitan Police told multiple outlets, according to USA Today.
Details surrounding the death of Neilson, who was close friends with supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, were not revealed at the time of her death, People magazine said. Neilson had talked publicly about her past struggle with heroin since 16 but claimed she has been able remain clean of late, the magazine noted.
The magazine said she was devastated by the suicide of close friend and fashion designer Alexander McQueen in 2010.
"He was my brother, my boyfriend, my soulmate," Neilson said of McQueen, according to the Daily Mail in 2015. "Most of the time people called me Mrs. McQueen. Quite often we were sharing a bed.
"The truth is I was happier with Lee than with anyone else. He asked me to marry him towards the end and I said no. I wish now that I had said yes."
Her Bravo biography said Neilson was a fixture in the international party circuit, born into a wealthy aristocratic family, she was best friends with McQueen for more than 20 years.
In a 2015 story for the website Bustle, she talked about being bullied.
"I got bullied in school, I got pushed around, and I know what it's like," Neilson said then. ""I don't like watching anyone feel like they're being undermined, and if I can stop it to a degree, I will."
Many shared their condolences on social media.
