White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci was fired Monday after only 10 days in the position, and people are wondering who will replace him in the role.

The communications director role has been a difficult one for months, with Mike Dubke resigning in May and leaving Sean Spicer to handle both the communications director and press secretary roles while a replacement was found.

Spicer was so upset over Scaramucci’s selection that it led him to resign, and Scaramucci also alienated chief of staff Reince Priebus, who was fired the day after Scaramucci called him a “paranoid schizophrenic” in an on-the-record New Yorker interview.

When former Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly replaced Preibus, however, it became the undoing of Scaramucci. Kelly apparently asked for Scaramucci’s dismissal over the weekend, Politico reported.

It is hoped that Kelly will be a stabilizing force for the Trump administration.

While no official word on the matter has been broached at this point, here are four people who could replace Scaramucci as White House communications director:

1. Political commentator and talk show host Laura Ingraham was approached by Priebus and Spicer for press secretary before Scaramucci came on board, Politico reported.

2. David Martosco was approached for communications director at the same time Ingraham was sought for press secretary. It may be a long shot for either of these two, however, since Priebus and Spicer are now out of the picture.

3. Current press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders may be pressed into service to take over the reins at least temporarily while the situation sorts itself out and Kelly identifies a suitable replacement for Scaramucci.

4. Could Sean Spicer be convinced to come back on board with Scaramucci out of the way? This may be unlikely, since he wasn’t popular before Scaramucci came on and Trump appeared to be tiring of him. But at least he has experience in the role.
