The singer, best know for her song “Respect,” performed on the show before talking about her walking routine. She told the guest host that she tries to avoid being stopped by fans while walking.

"I really don't like to break my stride when I'm walking so I change aisles really quickly," Franklin said.

The Queen of Soul also talked about her stopping at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans restaurants during her drive from Detroit to New York City.

"It's about the chicken and dumplings!" she said on the show. "The dressing is wonderful."

Franklin canceled several concerts in 2013 because of an undisclosed illness and said at the time the side effects of the treatment for her were rough.

Twitter users reacted to Franklin's fitness routine.
