Detroit Lions defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch have been sued for the remaining balance of a bar tab that's over $9,000.
Robinson and Benenoch ran up a $9,332 tab at a nightclub back in March after Richard James Harrington hosted them at Hyde Sunset Kitchen and Cocktails in Hollywood, according to theScore.
Robinson and Benenoch's credit cards were both declined when it was time to pay up and Harrington agreed to take care of the bill on the condition that the players pay him back.
Harrington is now suing the duo because despite the fact that they've paid him $4,000 of the balance, they still haven't given him the rest of the money.
However, Benenoch doesn't believe he and Robinson should have to pay Harrington another dime.
"We did our part," Benenoch said, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine and Michael Rothstein.
"This is all I'm really going to say on it - I'm focused on football. I'm not really worried about what they've got going on. The legal system is going to play itself out. I'm focused on what we've got going on here," he added.
Robinson has yet to comment on the matter.
Lions head coach Jim Caldwell offered some remarks about the situation after Monday's practice.
"I'm not going to talk about any particular incident because obviously some of those things are still being dealt with from a legal standpoint," Caldwell said, according to ESPN. "But just overall, we want our guys to be civil. We want our guys to obviously not be mixed up in any illegal activity or anything that brings discredit to our organization. So those are the things we preach constantly."
"But like I said, I'm not going to address each and every one of those situations because they are bound right now by a legal set of statutes," he added.
