Ashley Campbell posted a moving tribute to her father Glen Campbell on social media hours after his death on Tuesday, and Rolling Stone magazine noticed.
Taking to Twitter, the country legend’s youngest daughter shared an image of her holding her father’s hand.
She later posted a message on Facebook in which she extended thanks for all the tributes and kind words that had been pouring in since her father’s death.
Glen Campbell’s official biography says the multi-hit song writer was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease shortly after releasing his 2011 album, “Ghost on the Canvas.”
Following that, he launched “The Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour,” which featured his children, including Ashley Campbell as banjo player, keyboardist and harmony vocalist.
Ashley Campbell has been exploring her own sound recently, experimenting with solo work that her biography describes as “a mix of her wide-ranging influences, combining the old-school country sound popularized by her father during the '60s and '70s with contemporary Americana, rootsy folk and country-pop.”
Her first single, "Remembering," is a poignant tribute to her father and will be featured on her debut album.
