Auntie Fee, the YouTube home cooking star, died last week after suffering a heart attack. She was 59.
Fee, whose real name is Felicia O’Dell, passed away on Friday. She had a heart attack last Tuesday and was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles where she died, according to the Toronto Sun.
Fee went viral in 2014 after one of her cooking videos, “Sweet Treats for Kids,” received more than 4.5 million views on YouTube, according to E Online.
While there are many online chefs, Fee stood out and became a quick hit on YouTube for not only her cooking skills, but for her authenticity, “no-nonsense attitude,” and the vulgarity that she used in each video.
After going viral, Fee added more widely watched videos to her YouTube channel, including her “massive breakfast sandwich” and “good ass chicken” videos, E Online noted.
Fee’s online success earned her opportunities to showcase her cooking skills on the big screen, appearing on “The Steve Harvey Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” and the movie “Barbershop 3.”
Her son, Travis Hunter, took to Facebook to thank his mother’s fans for their love and support in this time, and he also had a special message for his mother.
“Thank you for all the prayers and hope, it did all it can do and now god made the decision to take my mother home where its peace & Joy…,” Hunter wrote in his post. “Rip Momma Felicia Auntie Fee O’Dell I love you and you was my twin.”
