B.B. King has canceled the rest of his tour after falling ill on Friday night, his representative announced on Facebook.

"Mr. King fell ill last night, Oct. 3, 2014, during his performance at the House of Blues in Chicago," the rep wrote Saturday.

"He was immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and suffering from exhaustion whereby causing the eight remaining shows of his current tour to be canceled."

Among the eight remaining stops for the 89-year-old blues legend was his October 13 performance at his own B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in New York.

Many took to social media to offer 'get well soon' messages to King, including guitarist Melvin Taylor and his tour opener, Hamish Anderson.

According to The Chicago Tribune, King's reps also had to issue an apology on his behalf after he gave an erratic performance in April, saying "The combination of the rigors of the very long drive and high blood sugar due to his medication error resulted in a performance that did not match Mr. King's usual standard of excellence."
