Famous ice cream maker Ben and Jerry's will release a special beer this fall, "Salted Caramel Brownie" brown ale, with a little help from New Belgium Brewing.
According to FirstWeFeast.com, the beer will come in large, 22 oz. bottles, and contain 6.3 percent alcohol. The beer's label also reveals that the proceeds will help an organization called "Protect our Winters," which is dedicated to combating climate change.
"Although our TTB [Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau] filing for the beer is now public, specifics around the campaign are still in development," said New Belgium Director of Sustainability, Jenn Vervier, in a company statement.
"At this time I can confirm that Ben & Jerry’s and New Belgium are collaborating to raise awareness around issues we are passionate about, and that the results will be delicious," she added.
Jay Curley, Senior Global Marketing Manager of Ben & Jerry’s, explained that the companies were a good fit for each other.
"We’re excited for the campaign we’ve developed together. When two B Corps collaborate our fans can expect something both delicious and impactful," he said. Ben and Jerry's used to be a traditional corporation, however it became a certified B Corp (Benefit Corporation) in 2012.
