Beverly D'Angelo and Chevy Chase are reuniting in a new comedy sitcom for ABC.
D'Angelo and Chase starred in the National Lampoon "Vacation" movies of the 1980s and 1990s.

Deadline.com reported that in a new twist on an old theme, D'Angelo, 62, and Chase, 70, will play a married couple in the comedy. However, this time, they'll be raising their grandchildren.
The sitcom is expected to air in the 2015-2016 season and was based on an idea pitched by Kapital Entertainment's executive producer Aaron Kaplan, Deadline noted. Neither a studio nor a head writer has yet been selected for the project.
The sitcom is about a couple entering their golden years when they're forced by circumstances beyond their control to raise their daughter's children, who, by their own design, they previously rarely saw.
According to Deadline.com, Kaplan is a big fan of the "Vacation" franchise and originally approached D’Angelo with the idea, who then discussed it with Chase.
After D’Angelo and Chase both signed on, Kaplan reportedly took the idea to ABC who jumped onboard.
The ABC decision is perfect timing for Chase, who last January left the sitcom "Community," after there were reports that the series was being canceled,
UPI.com reported. "Community," starring Joel McHale and Gillian Jacobs, remains on the air.
Chase apparently had an outburst on the set of "Community" during the fourth season, and abruptly left the comedy series shortly after, according to the UPI.com report.
According to McHale, Chase "didn't want to be there."
"When I would try [to get him to talk], he would just try to fight me," McHale added. "He physically wanted to fight me."
