Bigfoot Footage: Sasquatch Believers Release Video, DNA Samples

Researchers in Dallas Tuesday are trying to turn bigfoot skeptics into believers, releasing video footage of the beast and DNA samples they claim is the real deal.

Dr. Melba Ketchum told reporters during a news conference that her research team has been collecting data and evidence for the past five years for what they call The Sasquatch Genome Project.

Video of the elusive creature came from The Erickson Project, which said in a statement that it had "definitive video and DNA evidence from Sasquatch. Researcher Dennis Pfohl personally captured video and collected DNA samples from Sasquatch individuals," according to WFAA-TV.

Big Foot sightings have dated back to the 1800s and Texas ranks seventh in national sightings, per the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, the country’s largest sasquatch research group.

On Twitter, the news of alleged Big Foot evidence was met with skepticism and outright ridicule.

The money the researchers have put into their investigation is nothing to laugh at. The Sasquatch team told reporters they are spending $500,000 to analyze 111 DNA samples from the suspected species.

The team told the Dallas Morning News they have hair, blood and other tissue types from the beasts from 14 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces.

"We've all had experiences that changed our lives; literally shook the foundation of what we believe in," Pfohl, of Colorado, told the news conference. "Me and my family came across a large footprint in the Colorado mountains. Things like that shake your reality and shape your world to say there's got to be more to this subject than just the myth."
