Actor and comedian Bill Murray dropped in unexpectedly on a birthday celebration in South Carolina over the weekend, strengthening his reputation as a surprise-but-welcome party crasher.
Murray was actually invited to this party, but no one expected him to actually go, MTV said. The host, Marvin Larry Reynolds, shares the same Sept. 21 birthday as Murray.

Murray’s friend, chef Brett McKee, was catering Reynolds’ birthday party, so Reynolds extended an invitation to the comedian.
The result: great video of Murray “getting funky,” as MTV said, which was posted to Facebook for all to see.
“What a great party and what a down-to-earth guest. That's so awesome,” one person wrote on the video.
Murray seems to like surprises. This year, he was a ticket taker at a St. Paul Saints baseball game in August, and then he also stopped in a western store in Great Falls, Montana, to try on ties and take fan photos.
That’s just the beginning of a list of “unexpected” appearances, including another at a CVT Soft Serve in Los Angeles in July.
Murray’s also crashed a bachelor party and handed out autographs at a high school game.
“It was an honor to be part of such a special night with my good friends Julie and Larry Reynolds,"
McKee told She Knows.com. "And it was such a privilege to have Bill Murray show up, and realize that as human beings we are all just flesh and blood. We all just had a great time! No one was better than the other — it was just a night of fun food and friends."
