Is a Black Widow movie coming to the big screen? A Marvel Studios exec confirmed in an
interview with Total Film that such a thing was in development.
Comicbookmovie.com transcribed part of the Total Film interview, honing in on remarks from Marvel’s president Kevin Feige during an interview about "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Feige talked about going more in-depth on the Black Widow role in “Avengers: The Age of Ultron.”
“We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film," he told Total Film. "The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that."
Those two sentences don’t, by any means, assure fans of a Black Widow movie.
MTV News notes Marvel always has numerous projects in the development stage, and they don’t always make it to production.
Online, Marvel fans immediately picked up on the idea, and many gave it a big thumbs up.
Cracked.com agreed, and last week featured Black Widow in an article titled, “5 Superheroes Who Should Have Gotten a Movie Before Ant-Man.”
“And we're getting him before Black Widow, the elite Russian superspy who's already been in two major movies,”
Cracked wrote. “If there was any justice, Black Widow would have stolen James Bond's franchise by now, never mind gotten her own. Black Widow could bring us the superespionage movie. A story of intelligence trumping extrahumanity, where all-powerful idiots are countered by cunning instead of by someone who's even better at being a hammer.”
