Bo Derek said in a new interview that aging is "not for sissies," but added that she's plenty happy at age 58.

"Aging is really hard," she told CBS News in an interview to promote her upcoming role in "Sharknado 3," which will also feature political firebrand Ann Coulter.

"And it's tough. Bette Davis was right; it's not for sissies, it really isn't. And there is a certain expectation. I get credit on one hand for not having had a facelift, and then on the other hand it's, 'Oh my God, why doesn't she do something?' So you're just torn. I just have to keep busy, have other interests and try not to think about it."

Derek, the blonde bombshell known for her work on "10," "Fantasies," and "Tommy Boy," said that it's been awhile since she's been on screen, and reflected on her career as a younger woman.

"Do you think you made the right choices?" asked interviewer Ben Tracy.

"I do. Not in terms of being a star, not in terms of winning an award. But I had a blast. And anything I wanted to do, someone would finance," she replied.

"I'm not complaining, because what I did as soon as I became famous is, I objectified myself. I thought, 'Well, if this is what it is, I'm going to do it' . . . I never needed the adoration or the praise. I loved the work, and still do."

These days, Derek — born Mary Cathleen Collins in Long Beach, California — spends most of her time on her 110-acre ranch in California's Santa Ynez Valley.

Derek also spoke fondly of her late husband, photographer and director John Derek, who was 30 years her senior. The two ran away together when Derek was a teenager, and remained together until his death in 1998.
